1. Discovery and evaluation

Fonting is a tool for font discovery, organization, comparison, and design evaluation. It can help import, prepare, and install local font files. These functions are technical conveniences, not a source of permission to access or use third-party materials. Fonting is not a font licensor or a substitute for the rights holder’s terms.

2. Your licensing responsibilities

Before downloading, copying, previewing, converting, modifying, installing, embedding, sharing, distributing, or using a font, you must ensure that you have the necessary rights for that activity and comply with applicable law, website terms, and the font’s license. Obtain any required license from the relevant rights holder or authorized seller. Keep proof of permission and check the scope, including commercial work, logos, client work, desktop use, websites, apps, embedding, seats, and redistribution. A license for one purpose may not permit another. Free, open-source, and trial fonts also have terms; not every permitted use requires a purchase.

3. Availability is not authorization

A publicly accessible font file, a successful import, an app-generated desktop file, or an enabled Export or Install control does not establish ownership, authenticity, or permission. A webfont license does not necessarily allow desktop or logo use. Conversion or renaming does not remove or expand license restrictions. Previewing is not a blanket exemption from licensing requirements. If permission is unclear, do not use the file until the rights holder clarifies the permitted use.

4. Respect creators and third-party rights

Fonts, names, trademarks, and other third-party materials remain subject to their respective owners’ rights. Geoform LLC does not claim ownership of them or imply endorsement by their creators. Do not use Fonting to bypass access controls, infringe rights, or remove required notices. Licenses included with bundled fonts continue to govern those fonts; this notice does not replace or restrict permissions granted by those licenses.

5. Information and software

Font names, classifications, source information, and license labels may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are informational and are not a license verification, legal opinion, or assurance that a particular use is lawful. Verify the original license with its issuer. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fonting is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties concerning accuracy, availability, suitability, or non-infringement. Software may contain errors; keep independent backups.

6. Misuse and limitations

You are responsible for the materials you import and the uses you make of them. Geoform LLC and its operators do not authorize unlicensed use and, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, disclaim liability for losses, claims, or damages arising from your misuse, unauthorized use of third-party materials, or failure to comply with license terms. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, waives mandatory consumer rights, or overrides a third-party license. The effect of this notice depends on applicable law.

The Terms of use contain the applicable warranty and liability provisions. Mandatory legal protections continue to apply.

Contact the font’s foundry, designer, or authorized licensor for licensing questions. For a suspected issue with material bundled with Fonting, email mail@fonting.co, identifying the material and your concern. Seek qualified legal advice about your intended use when needed.
