Contact

Email mail@fonting.co from the address on your Fonting account. Tell us which device you’re on, the Fonting version, and what you saw. A screenshot helps. The version is under Settings → About on the Mac, and under Account → About on iPhone.

Please don’t send sign-in codes, or font files you don’t have permission to share.

Getting started on Mac

  1. Download Fonting. It runs on macOS 13 or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs. Open the disk image and drag Fonting to Applications.
  2. Open Fonting and add your fonts. Find Fonts on This Mac gathers the ones already installed, and you can import more files or folders whenever you like.
  3. To start the trial, sign in with your email in Settings → Account. We’ll send a code; enter it to confirm. Then choose Start Free Trial. You get 30 days of the core app, with no card required, and the trial simply ends if you don’t continue.

The cloud library and Fonting for iPhone come with a Fonting plan rather than the trial.

Signing in on iPhone

Fonting for iPhone opens an existing account. It doesn’t create one, so set up Fonting on your Mac first.

  1. Enter the same email address you use in Fonting for Mac and tap Continue with email.
  2. We’ll email you a sign-in code. Enter it, and your library opens. There’s no password.

If the code hasn’t arrived after a minute or two, check your junk folder. Asking for several codes in a row can hit a limit; wait a minute, tap Resend code once, and use the newest code.

Not signed in yet? Explore a sample library on the welcome screen opens six open-source typefaces, so you can try the app first.

How Mac and iPhone sync

Your iPhone reads the private cloud library you keep from your Mac. To set it up, open Settings → Cloud Library in Fonting for Mac, turn on Cloud library, then turn on Back up font files to my private cloud storage. Without backup, the phone sees your font names and details but can’t draw the fonts themselves.

  • Both ways: favorites, collections, categories, and font details. Change them on either device and the other catches up.
  • Mac to iPhone: your fonts. You add fonts on the Mac; the phone downloads them as you browse and keeps up to 250 MB of them for later.
  • iPhone only: your specimen settings and Saved Images. Shared images leave the phone only when you share them.

The iPhone syncs when you open the app, when you pull down to refresh, after each edit, and every minute while it’s open. The Mac syncs automatically unless you’ve paused it. Your iPhone doesn’t count as your one active Mac.

Troubleshooting

I can’t sign in on iPhone

Check that the address matches the one in Fonting for Mac under Settings → Account, including any typo or alias. If Fonting says it can’t find an account, create it on your Mac first. If the phone says your library is paused, the account doesn’t include the cloud library yet; once it does, tap Check access.

Fonts aren’t appearing

New fonts appear on the iPhone after your Mac has synced them. Give the Mac a moment, then pull down on the iPhone library. If a font’s name shows but its preview doesn’t, its file hasn’t been backed up: check that backup is on in Settings → Cloud Library, and that the font isn’t excluded from sync in Font Details.

Sync seems stuck

On the Mac, open Settings → Cloud Library and choose Sync Now. On iPhone, open Account (the person icon) and tap Sync Now; Last synced shows when it last went through. Edits made on the phone wait in line and are not lost if a sync fails. If they still won’t send, write to us before you choose Discard Unsynced Edits.

I’m offline

Fonting for Mac keeps working with the fonts on your Mac. On iPhone, fonts you’ve already downloaded stay available offline for up to 24 hours after Fonting last checked your access, and your edits sync when you’re back online. To free up space, use Clear Downloaded Fonts in Account; your library stays put.

Deleting your account

  1. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first: in Fonting for Mac, open Settings → Account and choose Manage Subscription, which opens Link, where you can cancel.
  2. Then, still in Settings → Account, choose Delete Account.

This permanently deletes your account and your cloud library, including backed-up font files, on every device. Fonts on your Mac stay where they are. On iPhone, sign out and delete the app to remove what it kept on the phone, including Saved Images. If you no longer have a Mac to do this from, email us from the address on the account.

Refunds and billing

For refunds, receipts, or anything about a charge, email mail@fonting.co from the address on your account. Payments are processed by Stripe, so we never see your full card number.
